"It's playtime in the inner-city!"
Urban Annihilation is a new PC game from Standards and Practices and now you finally get to play it.
This is a real-time-strategy with a few twists on the way other RTS games work.
First, there are 4 factions to choose from, (Gangstas, Corporation, Cartel and Mafia,) each with their own infantry units, vehicles and weapons. Everything from Pistols to Flame Throwers to Mounted 50 Caliber turrets!
You get bring your team into the battle in three different modes. They are 2 to 4-player networked games, single player missions and single player skirmish mode, (which is like a networked game for lonely people.)
Action is intensified by changing the typical open plane of an RTS battlefield into a city, where roadblocks can be laid down by engineers and traps set for your enemies.
Gather resources by "influencing" certain buildings, depending on your faction. Gangstas may rob banks to get their cash for example. The problem is, the Mafia may be stealing their cars from the Bank's parking lot so there will be a lot of trigger happy gang members in a small area...
We say "It's playtime" because all of this is happening in a child's imagination. He's just playing with his toys in his sandbox!
We appreciate the way gamers can really go nuts when they like a game and try to hack in their own content. Well we wanted to harness that and are releasing a bunch of free tools to let you easily make the game fit the way you like it.
Don't like the cardboard box buildings, and kiddie toy characters? Make some new ones! Tile sets are easy to create in our map editor - it is built right into the game.
We also have a unit editor, 3d model & animation exporter, particle effect maker and even the ability to create new menu themes. These tools and manuals will be online soon.
We have even tried to make this game accessible to everyone. Pretty much the whole game can be controlled with the mouse, (after typing your name,) but a keyboard gives you some quick shortcuts using hotkeys. Visual cues should also help those who can't hear our great dialogue too :-)
